DRZ is representing a former guard of a juvenile detention facility. The former worker observed and reported instances of inappropriate physical contact between a female guard and male juvenile inmates of the facility. Other guards observed and reported additional instances of inappropriate physical behavior with juveniles as well. The perpetrator was engaged and then married to another employee in the agency that operated the facility. Rather than properly investigate and terminate the perpetrator, the facility terminated DRZ’s client and subjected other reporting guards to harassment or termination in order to protect the perpetrator.
